These Orange Disaronno Snickerdooles are so good and a fun twist on the popular original. Makes 20 cookies!
Ingredients:
1 stick of softened, unsalted butter
1 cup cane sugar (+ 1/2 cup of a cinnamon and sugar mixture for rolling)
1 organic egg
50 mL (or roughly 3 oz.) of Disaronno Amaretto
Peel of 1 organic Orange
Vanilla from 1 Vanilla bean (or 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract)
1.5 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Using a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in the egg, vanilla, Disaronno, and orange peel until smooth.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and cream of tartar.
Gradually beat the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until well mixed.
Shape the dough into one inch balls and roll them in the cinnamon/sugar concoction.
Place the dough balls un an ungreased baking sheet, approximately 1-2 inches apart.
Bake for 11 minutes.
