One a penny, two a penny,

Hot cross buns!

If you have no daughters,

Give them to your sons

Hot Cross Buns!


Recipe:

  1. Combine 3 oz of melted butter, 1.25 cups of warm milk, and a package of active dry yeast.

  2. Add 1/2 cup of raw cane sugar, and a pinch of salt.

  3. Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, a table spoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of ground all spice, and a table spoon of molasses. Optional: add a handful of raisins.

  4. Knead dough for 10 minutes.

  5. Let dough rise for 1 hour.

  6. Shape buns and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.

  7. Let cool and add frosting (I combined powdered sugar with water, some vanilla extract, and orange zest).
