Crocus Garland

This crocus garland is a craft that is not only quick and easy but also visually stunning.

What you need:

  • Watercolor pad

  • Semi-moist watercolors (I recommend Stockmar)

  • Sharp scissors

  • School Glue (The blue kind)

  • Yarn

Directions:

  1. Begin by prepping the background. The technique you will be using is called "wet-on-wet painting". Dip a large painting brush into clean tap water and use this brush to moisten your watercolor paper with water. Once moist, choose different colors and loosely apply them to the paper using the same big brush. Do not spend too much time adding detail to the page. The colors will merge beautifully on their own - simply by applying them to the wet paper.

  2. For this particular craft, you will need several sheets of blended purples and one sheet of blended yellows.

  3. Let your background dry for a minimum of 30 minutes.

  4. Using sharp scissors cut out four petals for each flower (they should come in four different sizes; see image 2).

  5. Cut out a yellow center for each flower. Then, cut out anthers out from the yellow watercolor paper.

  6. Combine all petals with the blue school glue.
